Uploading Worlds

You can upload your own Minecraft world to a qwilo.tech server easily through the Pterodactyl panel. This is useful if you want to play on a custom-built map, a downloaded world, or transfer a world from singleplayer.

Preparing Your World

Before uploading, make sure your world folder:
  • Contains files like level.dat, region/, playerdata/, and session.lock
  • Matches your server’s Minecraft version (Java Edition)
  • Is zipped into a .zip archive (e.g., myworld.zip)
If you’re exporting from singleplayer:
  1. Open Minecraft.
  2. Click Singleplayer, select your world.
  3. Click Edit, then Open World Folder.
  4. Zip the entire folder (not just contents).

Step-by-Step: Uploading a World on qwilo.tech

1. Log in to the Panel

Go to control.qwilo.tech and log into your account.

2. Select Your Server

From your dashboard, choose the server where you want to upload the world.

3. Stop the Server

Click Stop before replacing world files to prevent data loss or corruption.

4. Open File Manager

Navigate to the File Manager tab in the sidebar.

5. Delete Existing World (Optional)

Delete the current world folder if you want to fully replace it. Be sure to back it up first if needed.

6. Upload Your World Zip

Click Upload, then select your zipped world archive (e.g., myworld.zip).

7. Extract the Archive

Once uploaded, right-click the zip file and choose Unarchive. This will create a new folder. Make sure the extracted folder includes the proper world files (level.dat, region/, etc.).

8. Rename Folder to world

If the extracted folder is named something else (like MyCustomWorld), rename it to world. This is the default world name Minecraft looks for. If you are uploading multiple worlds (for plugins or multi-world setups), you can keep unique folder names and manage them through plugins like Multiverse.

9. Start the Server

Return to the console or overview and click Start. The server will now load your uploaded world.

Tips

  • The default world folder is named world. You can change this in the server.properties file by editing the level-name key.
  • For large uploads (100MB+), consider using SFTP instead of the web panel.
  • Always stop the server before replacing or modifying world files.

Need Help?

If your world doesn’t load or the server generates a new one:
  • Double-check the folder name and contents
  • Verify the Minecraft version compatibility
  • Review the console logs for errors during startup
