Installing Plugins

You can enhance your Minecraft server on qwilo.tech by installing plugins that add new features, commands, and gameplay mechanics. qwilo.tech uses the Pterodactyl panel, which makes managing your server and installing plugins easy.

Before You Start

To install plugins, your server must be running one of the following software types:
  • PaperMC
  • Spigot
  • Purpur
Vanilla and modded (Forge/Fabric) servers do not support plugins in the traditional .jar format.

Step-by-Step: Installing Plugins on qwilo.tech

1. Log in to the qwilo.tech Panel

Go to control.qwilo.tech and log in with your account credentials.

2. Choose Your Server

From the dashboard, click on the server where you want to install plugins.

3. Stop the Server

Before uploading plugins, stop the server by clicking the Stop button in the top-right corner.

4. Open the File Manager

Navigate to the File Manager tab from the sidebar.

5. Locate the plugins Folder

Find and open the plugins folder. If it doesn’t exist, make sure your server is running Paper, Spigot, or Purpur. If it’s still missing, create a new folder named plugins.

6. Upload Plugin Files

Click the Upload button and select your .jar plugin files. You can get plugins from sites like: Make sure to only upload trusted and compatible .jar files.

7. Start the Server

Once the upload is complete, start the server from the Console or Overview page.

8. Check Console for Errors

Watch the startup logs to confirm your plugin loaded correctly. Most plugins will output a message when loaded.

Managing Plugins

  • To remove a plugin: Delete the .jar file and any config folders it created, then restart the server.
  • To update a plugin: Replace the old .jar with the new version.
  • Some plugins may generate configuration files in the plugins folder after the first startup.

Troubleshooting

  • If the server crashes after adding a plugin, remove it and restart.
  • Always check the plugin version matches your Minecraft server version.
  • Some plugins require dependencies — read the plugin documentation for setup steps.

Best Practices

  • Only download plugins from trusted sources.
  • Keep a backup before making major changes.
  • Avoid installing too many plugins at once; test in batches to identify issues.
